Heatwave | Cover 80’s

The 80s! A mythical era, symbolic of youth, freedom, insolence and creativity. Musically, we can still feel the shock wave and look back in wonder at the creative work of so many young artists who frolicked on the top of the billboards.

The phenomena today of “tributes” (Two major shows in France bringing together French-speaking artists and stars that made the charts) is proof, if any, of the unrivaled success of the music produced during this era.

But the initial wealth of music created during the 80s was mainly due to the New Wave movement. Crossing the Channel and the Atlantic, “New Wave” took over the world’s billboard charts like a musical tsunami throughout the entire planet.

Many groups and singers, following in the footsteps of eclectic and multifaceted artists such as David Bowie, Roxy Music or Iggy Pop, shaped a new artistic genre and sound where song, fashion, cinema, literature and the disco world found a common path in the hearts of teenagers and young adults from around the world.

The Cure, Simple Minds, Cindy Lauper, Blondie, Aha, Eurythmics, B-52’s, Human League, Franky Goes to Hollywood, Depeche Mode, Pretenders, XTC and so many others were unforgettable artists with styles as diverse as they are numerous (Pub rock, post punk, electro-pop, neo-romantic, Gothic, ska, reggae, coldwave, power pop ...) grouped under the generic term, “New Wave” music.

Looking back we can say today that the 80s has generated an anthology of songs that are engraved forever in our collective unconscious. Songs that excited and still thrill a large span of audiences from the young trendy to older generations alike

Based on this generous heritage the HEATWAVE 80 band offers a live playlist of the best tracks of this era, meant to make you dance and sing in a dynamic and festive atmosphere.

 Very faithful to the interpretations of the original songs, HEATWAVE 80 is a band of 5 musicians including singers Yasmin Shah and Stan Iankow who, nourished by their rich professional experiences, carry this project to its very limits and offer a live concert that will make you spend an unforgettable evening, a journey through time in the heart of the 80s!
